Meet Carter Hilton
Adventure Travel Advisor
Background:
I was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida and spent the majority of my time on the baseball field or fishing in the beautiful waters of Sarasota Bay. After Graduating from Sarasota High School in 2021, I went on to pursue my degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida State University, where I graduated in 2025.
What are your key accomplishments in the field/on the job?
Although I am very fresh in the industry, I have had the great fortune of being able to travel growing up. I boarded my first international flight before the age of one and have not looked back since. I have now been to over 60 countries and throughout my childhood have made some great memories across 6 continents.
Why did you choose to work in this industry?
I chose to work in this industry because of my travel background. I loved to travel growing up and was able to see the exceptional work my family has done in the industry.
What’s your approach to customer service?
I like to go above and beyond. I want to “WOW” the customer with services that are superior to their original expectations.
What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?
My pet would say that I am a hard-working individual yet still takes the time to care and love whenever possible.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
If you don’t love it, don’t do it.
Describe yourself using only film titles.
Adventure and grit of The Revenant meets critical thinking and hard work of Moneyball.
What is your favorite/most recommended travel movie/documentary or book?
The Grand Budapest Hotel
Describe the most incredible view you’ve ever seen.
Nothing beats a sundown over the Sand River at Londolozi Game Reserve with a drink in hand after a long, dusty day viewing some of the most natural animal behavior available on the planet. The birds are chirping, the Elephant are getting their last bit of water, and the Lion are roaring nearby, waking up for their long, silent night ahead on a crisp June evening.
What is your favorite travel memory?
My favorite travel memory was in Botswana, where we followed a pride of 18 lions for 3 days straight, observing the many intricacies of their relationships with each other and how they hunt. It felt like I could understand what they were saying to each other.
Finally, what is your ultimate dream/bucket list adventure?
I would love to go to Antarctica and knock off the 7th continent, but not just for that reason. It is one of the last untouched pieces of land on Earth and will satisfy my interest in pure, natural beauty.
