A mainstay since 2014 (with the exception of some time off to bring into the world our littlest Admiral Traveler, Remi Leeming):

Advisor and Digital Marketing Director
A little background:
Growing up locally in Sarasota, I was always intrigued by other parts of the world. I went to school at University of Hawaii and graduated with a degree in Cultural Anthropology, knowing my one goal was always to live abroad. Following college, I took two years to backpack the world including a year-long live and work stay in Australia, one of my favorite destinations to send travelers to, as well as an extended multi-month stay in Sweden, another favorite! After returning to Sarasota, I worked in event management helping to plan and execute events at the Benderson Rowing Event Center, followed by time spent in sales for start-up companies until I was introduced to Malaka and knew I had finally found what I was meant to do, work in the field I am most passionate about: travel!
What are your key accomplishments in your field/on the job?
I have been fortunate to participate in a specialist training program in New Zealand which was helpful to broaden my knowledge of the South Pacific and reinvigorated my passion for that part of the world, but truly, every traveler that comes home happy is a huge accomplishment and why we do what we do!
Why did you choose to work in this industry?
I’m in love with the world and all it has to offer, I want other people to share in this love and they can find that through travel!
What’s your approach to customer service?
I want to anticipate the client’s needs before they need to even ask! Learn their styles and preferences so that all they need to know, is that they want to go!
What would your pet say about you if we asked for a reference?
She can always tell when I need a good cuddle.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Do the things you want to do now, don’t assume you’ll be able to buy yourself the time later.
What’s the last song you listened to?
Sleepyhead – Passion Pit
Is there something that excites you so much it keeps you awake the night before?
Early morning flights to somewhere NEW! (stole this from Isabelle, but it’s so true for me too)
Describe the most incredible view you’ve ever seen.
first light on the Savannah, flying over Milford Sound via helicopter and my daughters face every day.
What is your favorite travel memory?
My husband proposed to me on a Gulet in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Turkey so that’s one of the best, but most recently we took my daughter on a Gulet in Croatia and seeing her experience the world will always be my favorite from now on.
Finally, what is your ultimate dream/bucket list adventure?
There’s not a single place on this earth I don’t want to see. My upcoming bucket list includes: Northern Lights in Finland and Sweden (I still pinch myself that I get to lead travelers on this amazing trip) and I am putting together another Africa trip to include Botswana and Zimbabwe for my friends and family in 2023.
