Recently, Malaka Hilton, an alumna of the Dedman School of Hospitality at the Florida State University, was interviewed via Zoom for an Alumni Spotlight segment by the college. In this interview, Malaka shared with current FSU hospitality students how she took her FSU hospitality degree to new heights and built her own luxury travel company, Admiral Travel International.
From getting her start fresh out of college working in a hotel, next working for a travel agency, to finally launching her own travel agency: Mal’s journey, while certainly exciting and seemingly glamorous, escorting guests and planning epic adventures around the world has not been easy. Malaka’s husband, Ryan Hilton, a former safari guide, eventually joined the business and helped Admiral Travel to grow. They have overcome many struggles including the current global pandemic, created a wonderful travel-loving family, and continue to grow their luxury travel brand today.
