Why: A float out ceremony is held once the exterior of the ship is completely built and marks the first time a new vessel floats on water. In keeping with maritime
tradition, it is a key milestone in the construction of a ship and recognizes the shipbuilders’ hard work and accomplishments to date. The brief ceremony includes words and prayers from a priest for the ship and its workers. Once floating, it will
then be moved to a wet dock for the final phase of construction which will focus on completing interiors, fixtures, and fittings for suites, restaurants, and all other public spaces.
