DAY 1 September 1, 2024REYKJAVIK, ICELAND Set foot in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, and immerse yourself in its unique culture and history. Explore the city’s charming streets and vibrant nightlife before boarding the Crystal Symphony, your home away from home for the next few days.

Iceland is a land of fire and ice, formed by volcanic eruptions and settled by Norse Vikings. Its unforested landscape is home to volcanoes, hot springs, mountains, glaciers, and the Northern Lights. The preserved Icelandic language is a testament to the country’s unique history and culture.

Reykjavík is a forward-thinking, eco-friendly city. It is powered by geothermal energy and is known for its whale watching and ancient maritime history.

DAY 2 September 2, 2024 – ISAFJORDUR, ICELAND As the sun rises, arrive in Isafjordur and spend the day enjoying one of multiple excursions.

Isafjordur is a remote trading post nestled between dramatic mountains and a narrow fjord. Despite its isolation, the town has become popular for it’s vibrant arts scene. Visitors can wander among the tin-roofed homes built by salt fish merchants, admire seafaring artifacts, and even find a world-class accordion collection at the Maritime Museum. Further afield, there are splendid Icelandic waterfalls, a tiny botanical garden in the tundra, and tiny villages dwarfed by their surrounding peaks..

Enjoy a scenic drive to the small village of Súðavík where you will learn about the devastating avalanche that hit the town in 1995, as well as get acquainted with the only native terrestrial mammal, the arctic fox.

DAY 3 September 3rd, 2024 – AKUREYRI, ICELAND Located on a stunning fjord in Iceland, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and rolling hills, the weather here is surprisingly mild for its proximity to the Arctic Circle.

Wander off the beaten path and explore the natural wonders that await you on one of our incredible on-shore excursions.

1. DIAMOND CIRCLE FLIGHTSEEING EXPERIENCE This brief flightseeing adventure will take you on a scenic flight over Godafoss Waterfall, Lake Myvatn, and Dettifoss Waterfall, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Fly through the landscape of epic television series, Game of Thrones, some of which was filmed in this dramatic landscape.

2. GEOSEA BATHS & GODAFOSS WATERFALL Visit GeoSea Sea Baths, a rejuvenating experience for the body, soul and mind. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the famous Godafoss Waterfall.

3. GLACIAL CANYON RIVER RAFTING Mind-blowing scenery, bubbling hot springs, action and relaxation combine to deliver a splash of unforgettable memories. Join us on this river rafting adventure tour through the magnificent West Glacial River Canyon.

4. JEWELS OF THE NORTH & MÝVATN NATURE BATHS This excursion encompasses all the major sights at the magical Lake Mývatn area with the added opportunity to view Dettifoss Waterfall, reputedly to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Guests will also have the chance to soak in the Mývatn Nature Baths.

5. OFF THE BEATEN TRACK 4X4 SIGHTSEEING ADVENTURE Those who dare to venture off the beaten track often find obscure treasures which are hidden to those that follow the common route. This 4×4 rigid Super Jeeps experience offers the opportunity to view these out-of-the-way gems.

6. POLAR FLIGHT TO GRÍMSEY Visit Grímsey Island, Iceland’s northernmost inhabited territory. The island is small but rich in resources – and on clear days, the view is magnificent.

SEYDISFJOR-DUR, ICELAND

DAY 4 September 4th, 2024 SEYDISFJORDUR, ICELANDNestled in a fjord, this colorful town is like a slice of Norway in Iceland. The bright wooden houses, the roaming reindeer, the barking seals, the snow-capped peaks, and the cascading waterfalls all create a stunning tableau. But this town is 100% Icelandic, with a wealth of outdoor activities and a vibrant arts scene. Hiking in Skalanes Nature Reserve offers the chance to see a variety of wildlife, both on land and in the air. The floating geothermal pools at Vok Baths spa are a luxurious experience that is not to be missed. Kayaking is also a popular activity in this area.

Pick from a myriad of excursions such as, taking a cruise to the Skalanes Bird Cliffs, enjoy the serenity of the VÖK Nature Baths, or visit a place even most Icelandic natives have yet to see – the Skalanes Nature Reserve!

DAY 5 September 5th, 2024 DJUPIVOGUR, ICELAND is nestled on the shores of the picturesque Hamarsfjörður fjord. The towering Búlandstindur mountain crowns the landscape, and the town has a deep history of fishing and trading. The Langabúð Heritage Museum serves as the town’s cultural center, and the shores are lined with progressive artwork called ‘The Eggs of Merry Bay’, which pays tribute to the birds that nest here. The surrounding countryside is home to secluded valleys, remote waterfalls, and the breathtaking glacial lagoons of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier.

DAY 6 September 6th. 2024 TÓRSHAVN (FAROE ISLANDS) FAEROE ISLANDS is a veritable cornucopia of charm. Named after the Norse god Thor, this diminutive city is unrivaled, with classic turf-roofed houses and modern buildings that stand side-by-side in perfect harmony. The city is also surrounded by majestic mountains and verdant valleys, making it a feast for the eyes.

The ship arrives at 11:00am and departs at 8:00pm.

Excursion 1: Faroe Panorama

Take a scenic drive across the harbor and up to the ridge-top road. Enjoy a photo stop at a viewpoint overlooking Tórshavn. Look out for stone cairns, which marked the footpaths between villages in olden times. This excursion is of minimal activity level and is suitable for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as those interested in sightseeing and city tours.

Excursion 2: Hike to Floating Lake

Hike to the overlooking cliff Trælanipan for an incredible view of the lake’s vast panorama and waterfall Bøsdalafossur. This exhilarating adventure offers remarkable mountain and ocean views, and is a popular spot for photographs. The hike is of extensive activity level and is suitable for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as those interested in hiking.

Excursion 3: Island of Vágar

Visit the secluded little village of Gàsadalur, home to only 15 houses. See mighty Múlafossur Waterfall, which cascades more than 30 meters (100 feet) over dramatic cliffs into the ocean below. Enjoy refreshments at the old warehouse in Bøur, which offers a spectacular view of the Tindhólmur islet and the island of Mykines beyond. Visit village Sandavágur’s red-roofed church, which houses an ancient Viking Age runestone. This excursion is of moderate activity level and is suitable for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as those interested in sightseeing and city tours.
