September 4 – 12, 2026

Vast, wild, and utterly unforgettable—this journey through Namibia takes you from the soaring red sands of the NamibRand to the shipwreck-strewn shores of the Atlantic, and deep into the remote Hoanib Valley. Luxe camps, dramatic landscapes, and soul-stirring silence await.
From stargazing in the desert to tracking desert-adapted wildlife, every stop offers a new kind of magic—ending with a restful final night at the elegant Droombos Estate.

September 4, 2026 Welcome to Namibia! Today captures the essence of Namibia in all its vast, wild glory. Begin with the towering red dunes of the NamibRand, where sunrise casts long shadows across the sand and the silence feels sacred. From there, the journey shifts dramatically as you approach Skeleton Coast—where the Atlantic crashes against bleached shipwrecks and desert meets sea in surreal contrast. By late afternoon, you’ll venture deeper into the remote Hoanib Valley, a starkly beautiful land where desert-adapted elephants roam and the horizon seems endless.

Evening brings a moment of calm: settle into your luxury camp, sip something chilled, and watch as the stars ignite the desert sky. This is Namibia at its most unforgettable—raw, remote, and completely magical.

NamibRand Nature Reserve

Your first two evenings will be spent at the Kwessi Dune Lodge in NamibRand Reserve. At Kwessi Dune Lodge, 12 cool and stylish air-conditioned chalets await—10 twin/double and 2 family units—each blending rustic charm with comfort thanks to canvas walls and thatched roofs. Every chalet features a separate open-air star gazer room, offering a front-row seat to Namibia’s dazzling night skies. From your private space, the main lodge, or the inviting swimming pool, you’ll take in sweeping desert vistas that stretch endlessly in every direction—until, of course, you’re distracted by the starlit performance overhead.

September 5, 2026 Begin the day with a sunrise visit to the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei and the surreal beauty of Dead Vlei. Enjoy a relaxed brunch in the park before returning to camp. In the evening, take in the desert’s golden glow on a scenic sundowner drive.

September 6, 2026 After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your scenic flight along the coast to Swakopmund where you will enjoy a brief city tour and lunch while the aircraft refuels.

Following lunch, return to the airport for your onward flight to Mowe Bay, where you’ll be welcomed by Shipwreck Lodge guides for a drive along the Skeleton Coast to the lodge.

Settle in and unwind in your accommodation for the next two nights.

Set within the heart of the Skeleton Coast Central Concession, Shipwreck Lodge lies between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers, just 45 km north of Möwe Bay. Nestled on the southern bank of the Hoarusib River mouth, the lodge is tucked among windswept dunes with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. Here, the cool Benguela Current brings a refreshing breeze over the lodge’s striking, shipwreck-shaped cabins—an architectural nod to the wild and storied coastline. The surrounding concession spans an impressive 146,600 hectares of raw, remote beauty in northwestern Namibia.

September 7, 2026 – Skeleton Coast After breakfast, set out to explore the wild beauty of the Skeleton Coast with Shipwreck Lodge. Activities may include a scenic river drive to the Clay Castles, thrilling dune boarding, quad biking over the roaring sands, or—weather permitting—a secluded beach lunch with the Atlantic at your feet.

September 8, 2026 – After breakfast at Shipwreck Lodge, transfer to Mowe Bay airstrip for your Scenic Air flight to Hoanib Valley Camp. Upon arrival at Orutjanda airstrip, you’ll be met by your guides and transferred to the camp.

Following check-in, your guides will go over the exciting activities planned for the afternoon and the next two days.

September 9, 2026 Hoanib River After breakfast, set off on a day of exploration with Hoanib Valley Camp. Activities may include game drives, guided nature walks, visits to local Himba communities, learning about ongoing giraffe research, or even tracking desert-adapted black rhino on foot.

Set in Namibia’s remote and breathtaking Kaokoland, Hoanib Valley Camp is surrounded by sweeping desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and rich cultural heritage. Just six stylish safari tents blend seamlessly into the wild, offering comfort and connection to nature.

Days are spent exploring this extraordinary region—tracking desert-adapted wildlife, visiting Himba communities, and learning from experts at the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Or simply relax on your private veranda, soaking in the silence and beauty of the desert.

September 10, 2026 Hoanib River Today offers another opportunity to explore the wonders of the Hoanib Valley. Choose from activities such as game drives, guided nature walks, visits to Himba communities, learning about giraffe conservation, or tracking desert-adapted black rhino on foot.

Each experience reveals a new layer of this remote, wild, and culturally rich corner of Namibia.

September 11, 2026 Transfer to Droombos Estate After a final breakfast in the wilds of Hoanib, you’ll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Windhoek. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you to the elegant Droombos Estate, where the afternoon is yours to unwind at leisure amidst serene gardens and refined surroundings.

Droombos Estate is a luxurious retreat tucked into the tranquil landscapes just outside Windhoek, Namibia. Blending refined elegance with warm hospitality, it offers a seamless escape for discerning travelers and locals alike. With contemporary comforts, attentive service, and sweeping views, Droombos is the perfect setting for both quiet relaxation and immersive cultural experiences.
