Are you ready to return to Africa? Tanzania borders are open and are ready to welcome travelers in 2020!  Join our safari specialist, Michael Distler on a journey to the famed Ngorongoro Crater & the north eastern part of the Serengeti National Park.  Huge herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration. Livestock belonging to the semi-nomadic Maasai tribe graze alongside wild animals.

December 7, 2020 – After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and be transferred by road to Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp

Entamanu Ngorongoro

The only place in the world where you can watch the sun rise over the Crater, and set over the Serengeti plains.

December 7-10, 2020 – Days on Safari at Entamanu Ngorongoro Camp.  Entamanu Ngorongoro is perched high on the wild side of the Ngorongoro Crater rim, a thoughtfully designed refuge in this elemental place, from which to explore the unique highland environment in which it sits. Surrounded by the soaring peaks of dormant volcanic hills and the ebb and flow of Maasai pastoralist life, this is a place to explore beyond the hustle and bustle of the main tourist trail at the Crater. Not only to visit the Crater, but to understand it as part of a wider environment.

December 10, 2020 – After your morning game viewing and breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Serengeti Safari Camp

Nomad Tanzania’s Serengeti Safari Camp was the first of it’s kind. It was designed with a purpose in mind; to be in the best possible location to view the wildebeest migration as it covers hundreds of miles of the Serengeti National Park each year. So it should come as no surprise that it really hasn’t changed much since it’s early pioneering days.

The wildebeest move and this is what our Serengeti Safari Camp is all about – understanding the Serengeti seasons and game movements and mirroring them.

Each year, this little camp casts off from Lamai Serengeti and begins its own odyssey. Covering hundreds of miles and moving every couple of months (not during your stay) along a route that the herds have travelled for hundreds of years, Serengeti Safari Camp is where you come for your migration fix.

Since the days in the early 90s when this little camp started, it’s been much copied, but never equalled.  It is effortlessly comfortable – a home from home, where you want for nothing. But it’s never been about luxury for its own sake. From the outset the focus has been clear. To deliver a superlative experience of the extraordinary wildlife in this part of the world without damaging the environment that has so inspired us over the years.

This is why Nomad have always worked with the best guides and always kept their camps small, intimate and simple.

December 10-14, 2020 – Days on Safari at Serengeti Safari Cam

Game drives in search of the migration

The priority from Serengeti Safari Camp is usually to find the Great Migration. You’ll set off early morning in a shared vehicle with one of our exceptional Nomad guides in search of the herds, and the plethora of other wildlife that call the Serengeti home. Depending on what everyone in your group fancies doing for the day, you’ll either return for lunch in camp, before heading out again in the afternoon. Or, you may all decide to take a picnic lunch with you and spend the whole day exploring the Serengeti.

We always recommend that you consider a private car and guide so there are no limits to your game viewing – as you wont be sharing the vehicle with anyone else, you’ll be able to indulge your own interests…without having to endure other peoples.

December 14, 2020 – After your morning drive, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward travels
